What happens when you have no recognised nationality, or have it erased or degraded by malicious state authority? Is self-sovereign, blockchain-based identification on the horizon? Can blockchain and decentralised identity help people secure basic rights, banking, and other essential services?
This Wednesday, 11 November, we're welcoming **Aleksejs Ivashuk, founder of **Apatride Network, a stateless-led organisation working to advance human rights across Europe and beyond.
With over a decade of experience in human rights field, Aleksejs also co-founded the Blockchain for Human Rights consortium. He'll help explain and explore the real-world challenges of statelessness, the potential of blockchain-based identity systems, and the risks of trusting personal identity in a centralised digital infrastructure.
