Joseph Borg

Joe is a leading Malta-based legal expert specialising in fintech, gaming, esports, sports, technology, telecoms and intellectual property law. Admitted to the Maltese bar in 2004, he is also registered as a Part II Practitioner with the DIFC Courts in Dubai.

Ranked by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500 for fintech, and recognised by Who’s Who Legal as a Global Thought Leader in gaming, Joe brings deep regulatory and industry expertise to the Web3 and virtual assets space. He is Chairperson of the Virtual Assets Business Section of the Malta Chamber of Commerce and also lectures Gaming Law at the University of Malta.

Before joining WH Partners, Joe served as Chief Regulatory Officer at the Lotteries and Gaming Authority in Malta, after previously acting as its Director Legal and Enforcement. His earlier experience includes serving as Legal Counsel at Vodafone Malta.
